Song: Death and the Maiden (on napster)
Composer: Schubert (string quartet)
I heard this classical piece only a couple of days back when I saw the Roman Planski movie of the same name. The movie is about a girl (sigourney weaver) meets a doctor (ben kingsley) who had tortured her in the past. The music piece makes a substantial appearance in the movie -- specifically, the doctor plays this to "soothe" the tortured girl. This composition beautifully brings out this irony. The movie (which is an adaptation of a play) is a must see. Death and the Maiden is a must hear.
