Reser'B'ations ... no laughing matter ... or is it?
I am sorry for this post, given that we have been having quite a mature discussion about the reservations crisis on and off this blog ... I couldn't resist posting this frivolous comic ...
The original dialogue is from the movie Deewar ... Vijay, Amitabh, the coolie turned underworld don : Hum dono ek hi jagah se apni zindagi ki shuruwat ki thi -- aaj main kahan hoon aur tum kahan ho. Mere paas gaadi hai, bungalow hai, daulat hai -- tumhaarey paas kya hai? (We both started our lives from the same place -- look where I am today and where you are. I have cars, bungalows, wealth -- what do you have?)
< then there is a short pause >
Ravi (Shashi Kapoor) the Honest inspector brother : Mere pass ma hai (I have Mother. )
Then came the Rupa undwerwear ad ... Aaj mere paas paisa hai, gaadi hai, ghar hai.. tere paas kya hai? mere paas maa hai, aur Rupa kee baniyaan.
... and MTV's take on it ... agar sab Rupa ke baniyan aur undie pehnengey, to Rupa kya pehnegee?
