(from slashdot) Smugness on Security ...
MACs are insecure ! So are the new and "improved" US passports ...
It seems the the wireless cards on MACs can be hijacked so that anyone can remotely get complete control over a system if the wireless card is enabled and set to connect to any wireless network.
As for the new US passports, they have RFIDs (a small chip which stores data that can be remotely read using an RFID reader) to supposedly enhance security. However, the RFIDs seem to have many vulnerabilities -- they can be cloned (though not yet forged) and as shown in the above video used to launch targeted terrorist attacks!

Big time spin doctor!!
Look at the way 1d has selectively written about Macs and the way he italicized "any" to give a completely different meaning to it from what was intended in the website.
If Macbooks are set to connect to any available wireless network, they are vulnerable. No one has said that they are vulnerable when they are connected to any wireless network.
While Macs, like I guess, any other computer/notebook, made by a mortal, will have flaws in it, it makes sense to be smug about a Mac's security, at this moment.
